About

Technology service with a neighborhood scale.

Roland Park Solutions exists to make everyday technology less mysterious and more useful.

The idea

Most technology problems do not need an enterprise platform. They need someone who can look at the whole system, understand what is actually happening, and explain it without making the customer feel like an idiot.

I want Roland Park Solutions to operate more like a good neighborhood tradesperson than a disposable support ticket: show up, understand the situation, do careful work, explain what changed, and leave the system in a better state.

That means being conservative about upgrades, honest about limitations, and willing to teach. A customer should not need their technician forever simply because the technician refuses to explain anything.

Principles

Simple systems survive.

Understand before changing.

Diagnosis precedes intervention. A working system should not be replaced merely because it is unfamiliar.

Prefer repair where reasonable.

Replacement has a cost in money, waste, learning, and disruption. It should have a reason.

Explain the work.

Customers deserve to know what happened, what was changed, and what they should watch for next.

Leave documentation behind.

Passwords, network details, backups, and important decisions should not exist only inside someone's head.

Service area

Roland Park and the surrounding Baltimore neighborhoods.

Local service is the point. The exact service area can expand as the business does, but the emphasis remains on doing careful work for people nearby.
